Abstract

We have demonstrated stable, long-term operation of a diode-pumped FM mode-locked Nd: YLF laser, which is synchronized to a possively mode-locked dye laser (CPM). Relative jitter between the lasers is measured to be less than 1 ps. The operation of the FM mode-locked laser near threshold agrees well with the Kuizenga-Siegman theory, however deviations are observed well above threshold.
