Abstract
NAD(P)+-dependent aldehyde dehydrogenases of higher plants have not been studied well enough at the moment as compared to those of mammals. The betaine aldehyde dehydrogenase gene was obtained from rice (Nacamyra et al., 1997). There is some information on the structure of spinach, sugar beet, sorghum, burley cDNAs (Rhodes and Hanson, 1993; Wood et al., 1996), non-phOsphorylating glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase cDNAs from pea and maize (Habenicht et al., 1994), maize RF2 protein cDNA (about 60% identity to mammalian mitochondrial aldehyde dehydrogenases) (Cui et al., 1996), tobacco mitochondrial aldehyde dehydrogenase cDNA (op den Camp and Kuhlemeier, 1997).KeywordsAldehyde DehydrogenaseBetaine Aldehyde DehydrogenaseAldehyde Dehydrogenase GeneMitochondrial Aldehyde DehydrogenaseBetaine Aldehyde Dehydrogenase GeneThese keywords were added by machine and not by the authors.
