Abstract

To the Editor: Frontal fibrosing alopecia (FFA) is a progressive scarring alopecia that is considered a variant of lichen planopilaris.1 It has been recently reported that the prominence of facial veins can be an initial presenting sign in many patients with FFA.2 However, the characterization of these patients has been limited. Long-pulse 1064-nm neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) lasers have been widely used for leg vein treatment and could serve as a similarly safe and effective treatment for prominent facial vasculature in the setting of FFA.
