Abstract

The ( y) Co 0.9Cd 0.1Fe 2O 4 + (1 − y) PZT ME composites where ( y = 0.15, 0.30 and 0.45) were prepared using ceramic method. The phase development, morphological changes of the samples were analyzed using XRD and SEM techniques. The results revealed that the particle size of the ferrite phase is less than that of ferroelectric phase (0.52 μm). The DC resistivity for different compositions was studied as a function of temperature. The dielectric parameters such as dielectric constant, dielectric loss and AC conductivity were studied as a function of frequency in the range 100 Hz to 1 MHz. The magnetic behavior of the samples was analyzed by hysteresis measurement. The static value of the magnetoelectric conversion factor, i.e. (d E/d H) H was measured as a function of applied magnetic field. The dependence of ME coefficient on DC resistivity is explained.
