Abstract

Piezoelectric energy harvesting (PEH) provides an essential mode for the transformation of mechanical vibration to electrical form for providing continuous power to wireless sensor nodes in today’s connected world. This work describes an analytical model based on the Euler-Bernoulli model. The proposed model is in agreement with the FEM simulation model, with results differing by 6%. Variation in geometric parameter, the effect of resonant frequency, output power and stability of the design provides a constraint domain for structure optimization have been described along with the effect of damping. The designed harvester generates a power of 1.31 mW at 90 Hz resonant frequency.
