Abstract

In this work, the characteristics of a passively mode-locked laser based on a glass fiber doped with the rare-earth material erbium were investigated. This report explores the wavelength tuning capability of the fiber laser using a reflective diffraction grating placed within its cavity. The experiment demonstrates a wavelength tuning range of 1515 nm-1580 nm for a 50% out-coupling configuration and highlights the efficacy of the grating in achieving precise control over the laser’s output spectrum and power.
