Abstract

This article first researched characteristics and biological activities of 3 new epoxiconazole solid crystals that were prepared with methanol, isopropanol and dichloroethane and then compared them with solid crystals found in commercial pesticide. Four solid crystals were classified and identified with powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), vibrational spectroscopy (IR), and electron microscope (SEM). These four crystal appearances and thermodynamic properties have specific differences. The results from the fungicidal activity in the four crystal suspension concentrates showcased that the fungicidal activity of the crystals obtained by using dichloroethane as a solvent was superior to that of the other two kinds of new solid crystals and the currently available active pesticide. This indicates the prospective applications are vast. • First researched characteristics and biological activities of 3 new epoxiconazole crystals. • Four solid crystals were classified and identified with powder XRD , DSC, IR , and SEM. • Compared 3 new epoxiconazole crystals with solid crystals found in commercial drugs.
