Abstract

At present the resonance structures on the evanescent waveguides are widely used in practice and are the object of the scientific research. From the list of such resonators let's select the waveguide-dielectric resonator (WDR) on a basis of circular waveguide and a resonator which is the orthogonal crossing of a circular and radial waveguides. Both the WDR and the orthogonal crossing of waveguides (OCW) are partially filled with dielectric element (DE). These resonance structures have characteristics which are inherent in the resonators on the evanescent waveguides: compact in size and weight, rare spectrum as well as the wide tuning range of a resonance frequency. At the same time each of them has its specific peculiarities. The WDR is the most simple and manufacturable device besides the spectrum of its eigenoscillations can be exactly calculated for the known analytic equation. The different microwave components and devices were created using such resonator. An important quality of the OCW is a possibility of using the DE in the form of the plane of arbitrary size and form. The electrical parameters of a dielectric material can be defined by the nondestructive technique in such resonator. The main characteristics of these resonators for the same sizes and close resonance frequencies will be investigated and compared.
