Virus load in sputum specimens collected on days 11–15 were lower than in specimens obtained on days 16–18
Interferon-α, interferon-inducible protein 10, monokine induced by interferon-γ, IL-6, monocyte chemoattractant protein-1, and IL-8 were detected on day 11 of illness but levels decreased as the patient clinically improved
