Abstract

ABSTRACT This article draws on the results of an 11-nation Small Business Survey prepared for the 1984 International Small Business Congress in Amsterdam. It demonstrates the positive and driving qualities of the Canadian entrepreneur, which hold up well in international comparison. The article concludes by noting that a potentially dynamic entrepreneurial culture has been developing in Canada, largely in the absence of specific policies to foster such growth, and recommends that greater emphasis be placed on the broad policy area of education to assist in its development.
