Abstract
One of the spheres where our country marked the most serious stagnation during theperiod of transition tomarket economy is the spatial and urban planning. Currently the campaign of preparation of new urban master plans for Bulgarian municipalities is in its peak. The better knowledge of the sources of information and all the specific characteristics of the different information arrays, as well the specific procedures of data processing, is very important for achieving good results. The purpose of this study is to mark all the specific characteristics of the data,that we need, and the procedures of their processingwith a view to providing the necessary information base for the development of the municipality's Master Plan. Here we mark all the main problems which may occur in the process of information provision of the project,the compatibility of the data from different sources with a view to achieving the required quality of the final products.
