Abstract

The temperature field distribution in air SDBD (surface dielectric barrier discharge) is investigated by measuring the temperatures of reactive plasma volume (Tp), electrode (Te) and gas (Tg) using the fiber optic thermometer. Results show that Tp is almost the same as Te, while Tg is lower than Tp. Both Tp and Tg follow a first-order model. The temperature in the area between the boundary of the plexiglass surfaces and the electrodes is higher than the temperature in the center. The gas flow rate has little effect on Tp due to that air flow is in steady laminar flow state.
