Abstract

The development of the high-speed railway brings the growth of talent demand and the change of characteristics, especially the demand for high-tech, innovative and versatile talents. At present, there are problems and shortcomings in the talent structure of the railway, which requires cooperation of three sides: the government, the railway industry and universities. To reform cultivating modes of creative talents is the core and key point of the construction of talent team in an era of high-speed railway. 1.The Development of high-speed railway and the change of talent demand In the year 2005, the State Council passed national Long-term railway network planning, making clear the long-term goals and tasks for the construction of national railway network, depicting a grand blueprint of the railway network by the year 2020. It marked a new and massive construction of railways, which was based on promoting railway transport capacity and improving the level of the machinery equipment. China must comprehensively push forward technical innovation and institutional innovation, thereby by the year 2020 China will basically achieve railway modernization to meet requirements of national economic development. Although the high-speed railway in western countries had better theoretical basis and practical application, China's railway line for passenger traffic, with transport volume large, transport centralized and transport distance long, cannot indiscriminately imitate the high-speed railway technical system of any other country. Only by learning widely from other's strong points and basing on the independent innovation, combination of international advanced technology, research and independent innovation can China build a first-class system of the high-speed railway line for passenger traffic that fits our country. Prominent development of the railway need joint effort by lots of professionals from home and abroad. It is estimated that, to the year 2020, the rapid development of railway is in dire need of nearly 200,000 professionals. An important task that railway modernization confronts is to educate and cultivate railway talents, especially those with initiative spirit, innovative thinking and creative ability.
