Personal names are classified as proper nouns belonging to the noun category in a language. They function as nominators, addressing a particular name of a person in a given communication setting. Each community or ethnic group has distinctive cultural and linguistic features in naming a person. The Ede's names are a subset of the proper names, with their semantic and structural characteristics. Upon the basis of reasoning and the survey and categorization result of Ede personal names in Vietnam, this research paper analyzes and illuminates the structural and semantic features of the components in proper names, such as middle names, given names, and surnames of the Ede.
