Abstract

In the present study, an investigation was made of porous Copolymers obtained by the polymerization of styrene and p-divinylbenzene in the presence of iso-octane and some porous polymers produced by Waters and Johns Manvill Co. Gas chromatographic separation shows that in the separation of molecules having different types of bonds and containing various functional groups, there is observed on polysorbs, a linear dependence of the logarithm of the adjusted retention volume on the number of carbon atoms for a homologous series of n.alkanes, aromatic hydrocarbons, n-alcohols, ketones, and fatty acids (Fig. la). It has been found that logarithm V R is also a linear function of the total polarizability, the boiling point of the compounds, and their molecular weight for the homologous VR series (Fig. lb, c, d). Based on the dependence log T 1 versus ~ , the heats of adsorption for n-alkanes Cs Cs
