Abstract

AbstractUsing the satellite thermal infrared brightness temperature data from Chinese geostationary meteorological satellite, we got their relative power spectra and analyzed this information in the wide range and full‐time. The results show that there are significant changes in brightness temperature before the Japan Ms9.0 and Myanmar Ms7.2 earthquake. The thermal‐infrared anomalies appeared about six months before the earthquakes. The change amplitude is more than 10 times than the normal relative amplitude. There are significant differences between the two earthquakes in the size of the abnormal regions and the time curves. Such differences may be associated with geological and climatic conditions.
