Abstract

The spectral and energy characteristics of dye lasers pumped with single laser pulses were determined and the width of the emission spectra of the dye lasers was reduced by a phase-polarization method. The optimal parameters of the components and of the operation of a system for locking the spectrum to the absorption lines of chemical elements (specifically Ne, K, Na, Cs, etc.) were determined. Narrowing of the emission spectrum to approximately the Doppler width of the profile of an absorption line was achieved together with a high reproducibility of the emission wavelength relative to the center of the profile and an increase in the spectral density by about 1.5 orders of magnitude.
