Abstract

We report the experimental results of characteristics of parallel arrays of asymmetrical nanobridges (ANBs) made of YBa2Cu3Oy (YBCO) thin films deposited on yttria-stabilized zirconia (YSZ) substrates. ANBs have the asymmetrical current-voltage (I-V) characteristics caused by the ratchet effect in a magnetic field. We have tried to enhance the asymmetry by combining the modulation of the critical currents (Ic) of SQUIDs with that of ANBs. Previously, we fabricated the parallel array of two ANBs and observed the ratchet effect. However, the asymmetries were insufficient for the rectifiers. In this study, we fabricated the parallel arrays of three ANBs to observe further asymmetry.
