Abstract

The characteristics of nervous system functions were studied using a complex of physiological methods in adolescents using volatile solvents. Significant functional asymmetry of the hemispheres was seen, along with imbalance and lability of nervous processes, and dominance of responding on the basis of medium-weak and weak types of nervous system, as well as a decrease in fast responding, degradation of the dynamics of nervous processes, and impairments to the regulation and control of ongoing mental activity. Assessment of the functional state of the nervous system in consumers of volatile solvents should be used in therapeutic-diagnostic practice to develop individual corrective programs.
