Abstract

Copper-chromium alloys exhibit a severe intermediate temperature loss in ductility during uniaxial tensile loading that has the characteristics of dynamic embrittlement. The dynamic embrittlement is characterised by intergranular fracture caused by stress induced ingress of sulphur to the grain boundaries followed by decohesion.
