Abstract

The pressure drop and transient heat transfer in horizontal two-phase helium flow in channels of different cross-sections have been investigated experimentally and theoretically. The calculation models and empirical relationships are proposed. The practical application of the obtained flow patterns, void fraction, pressure drop and heat transfer characteristics are presented as an example for optimizing the superconducting magnets of the UNK accelerator.
