Abstract

Heat and mass transfer coefficients were measured for water vapor absorption into a LiBr-water solution flowing down an absorber of vertical tube type. The absorber consisted of a copper tube of 25 mm inner diameter and 1 000 mm length. The film Reynolds numbers were varied in the range of 35-130. LiBr-water solutions of absorber inlet used in the experiment were supercooled liquid and superheated liquid. In the conditions of the supercooled liquid, the film thickness which brings about a maximum value of the total absorption rate is around 0. 3∼0. 4 mm. Also, heat transfer coefficients and mass transfer coefficients are presented as a dimensionless correlation.
