Abstract

The effects of Rashba spin‐orbit interaction (SOI) and a laterally inhomogeneous magnetic field on the characteristics of eigenstates and transport of spin‐polarized electrons in a quantum wire are investigated in terms of an efficient expanded basis method. From numerical simulations, it is found that inhomogeneous magnetic field can considerably modify the dispersion spectrum, as compared to that uniform magnetic field. With the increase of the temperature, Rashba SOI effect on the conductance becomes much weaker.
