Abstract
Abstract In this paper the standardization activities for telematic services in CCITT SG VIII are described. In these activities there are some outstanding trends, that is, (1) harmonized communication architecture among facsimile, mixed mode, videotex, etc., (2) sophisticated communication concepts such as ODA and DTAM, and (3) basic philosophy for new image communications such as RICA and RICAPs. In ISDN telematic technology is expected to become more sophisticated and provide very promising integrated image communications services.
