Abstract

Ar divergent gas-puff ${Z}$ -pinch discharge with reversed polarity was performed. Spectroscopic and spatial properties of K-shell and L-shell radiations emitted from highly ionized Ar ions were investigated. It was confirmed that L-shell radiation was spreading in the axial direction, whereas K-shell radiation was emitted from a small spot. The spot size of K-shell radiation was measured, and the diameter of the spot was $34 \pm 9~\mu \text{m}$ . Small creatures were observed using the K-shell radiation emitted from the spot. Repetitive and intense point radiation source with limited spectrum was realized by the divergent gas-puff ${Z}$ -pinch.
