Abstract
Photophysical hole burning (PPHB) measurements have been accomplished for solutions of crystal violet in water at room temperature as a function of the excitation intensity. The experimental results of the steady state measurements were modelled with rate equations. The lifetime of the PPHB effect has been determined to 0.8 ps and the ground state recovery time to 4 ps.
