Abstract

Nine white grapevine ( Vitis vinifera L.) cultivars grown in the Extremadura region of Spain were characterised by two methods. The morphology of various plant organs was described at several phenological stages, and the amino acid composition was determined in the musts sampled at maturity. The results show the two methods to be complementary and able to differentiate varieties. Cases of homonyms and synonyms are presented.
