Abstract

This chapter focuses on the important problem of effective calculation of frequency response function (FRF) in medium-frequency (MF) range. The general concepts of this MF method were initially introduced for structural vibrations, and then extended to structural acoustics. The chapter also deals with the definition of a class of excitation force fields for a given MF narrow band. This class of particular excitations allows the FRF to be constructed in an MF narrow band. It also introduces an approximation of the FRF in an MF narrow band due to frequency-dependent damping and stiffness operators.
