Abstract

This final chapter tries to complete the author's picture of the Global Development War. It presents recommendations for reform in all the global economic organizations (GEOs)-first for the World Bank and the other multilateral development banks (MDBs), then for the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and finally for the World Trade Organization (WTO). All eight of the clusters of criticisms directed at the GEOs apply in some fashion to the World Bank and the regional MDBs. The reforms that the author recommends in the chapter would help to respond to and overcome the criticisms that he finds well-founded as directed against the MDBs. In offering the author's recommendations, the chapter concentrates first on structural and institutional matters. The chapter also presents an appendix, which presents Draft Protocol to the Asian Development Bank (AsDB) Charter .Keywords:AsDB Charter; Global Development War; global economic organizations (GEOs); International Monetary Fund (IMF); multilateral development banks (MDBs); World Bank; World Trade Organization (WTO)
