Abstract

This chapter discusses equation of a plane, equations of a straight line, distance from a point to a plane, pair of planes, bundle of planes, shortest distance between two skew lines, and coplanar lines. The shortest distance between a point and a straight line is the perpendicular to it from the point. Consequently, the shortest distance between two skew lines is along the line which is perpendicular to both of them and if the two straight lines are coplanar, they are either parallel or intersect.
