Abstract

Nam-Dong, who proved to be an expert on modern Western theology, is often regarded as the systematic alter ego of the exegetically oriented Ahn Byung-Mu. Ahn confirms this view by pointing to his co-operation with in the Mission Education Center: Suh Nam-Dong and I agreed: You have to look at things from a systematic point of view and I from an exegetical point of view. The confluence of Christian and Korean minjung traditions - which is of crucial importance to Suh's theological program - finds its programmatic equivalent in Kim Chi-Ha's dictum of the unity of God and revolution. makes a large number of references to the gospel, the Christian tradition and Korean history and culture, which would paradigmatically illustrate the possibilities of a symbiotic interpretation of gospel and culture. Keywords: Ahn Byung-Mu; Christian tradition; Kim Chi-Ha's dictum; Korean minjung traditions; Nam-Dong
