Abstract
The doctrine of God in African inculturation theology has primarily been an attempt to isolate and understand the divine category of African cosmology. This chapter presents the diagram which captures the divine category and how it relates to other areas of existence with African cosmology. It investigates the conclusions of renowned African inculturation theologians: Bolaji Idowu, John S. Mbiti, and Gabriel M. Setiloane. It would have been ideal to investigate every possible work by African inculturation theologians on the doctrine of God. Idowu is thoroughly frustrated by the too many stay at home investigators, and those who go out into the field and often find it difficult to leave at home their own preconceived notions regarding their own theory of the high gods of the primitive peoples..Keywords: African cosmology; African inculturation theology; Bolaji Idowu; Gabriel M. Setiloane; John S. Mbiti
