Abstract

In this chapter, we review ranked set sampling with unequal samples for estimating the population mean proposed by Bhoj (2001), ranked set sampling with unequal samples and unequal replications, and ranked set sampling with unequal samples for skew distributions proposed by Bhoj and Kushary (2015, 2016). In addition, we consider new median ranked set sampling suggested by Bhoj (2002), which uses ranked set sampling with unequal samples. The relative precisions of these procedures are better than those based on ranked set sampling and median ranked set sampling. We also discuss the other ranked set sampling procedures suggested by other investigators. Finally, we summarize the applications of ranked set sampling with unequal samples to real data.
