Abstract

This chapter discusses weakly dependent random variables. A sequence of random variables is called mixing, if those elements that are far from each other in the sequence are nearly independent. The chapter presents a general theorem on centered random variables and describes a mixing condition. For a sequence of random variables with finite expectations, the properties are similar to the properties of independent random variables.
