Abstract
In the last few decades cancer immunotherapy has evolved as an alternative strategy for cancer treatment. A variety of approaches including monoclonal antibodies, cancer vaccines, chimeric antigen receptor T-cell therapy, immune checkpoint therapy, oncolytic virus therapy, and nonspecific immunotherapy have revolutionized traditional cancer treatment. In addition to these therapies, various immune booster drugs such as thalidomide, lenalidomide, and pomalidomide have also been reported to produce anticancer action. Since the 1980s, many novel immunotherapy treatments have been tested and approved for cancer treatment. This chapter covers all the reported immunotherapies for cancer treatment in detail.
