Abstract

This chapter is carried out within the framework of the “Pacific Econavipesca Project: Ecosystem for Sustainable Fishing Navigation in the Municipality of Guapi, Cauca, Colombia,” which aims to design and implement a sustainable model associated with small-scale artisanal fishing, which includes the design of a hybrid generation system for the boat and the value chain and socio-business management model. In this line of thought, this paper describes a technological solution for a hybrid generation system based on nonconventional sources of renewable energy for a vessel used in artisanal fishing. The research is focused on determining the availability of nonconventional sources of renewable energy in the study area and selecting the appropriate energy alternative to the design of the electric propulsive system of the vessel. A multicriteria method of decision analysis considering social, technical, economic, and environmental factors is used. The multicriteria method considers the knowledge of experts and the interests of the community to ensure the sustainability of the project.
