Abstract
About 20% of pelvic fractures involve the acetabulum. Acetabular fractures typically affect two age groups of patients: young adults with active lifestyle involved in high-energy traumatic accidents (car and motorcycle accidents, pedestrians struck by motor vehicles, crush injuries, etc.) and elderly subjects that sustain acetabular injuries from lower energy trauma such as falling from a standing height.
