Abstract

Heterocyclic compounds have gained significant attention owing to their broad spectrum pharmacological profiles. Thiazine is one of such promising scaffolds that have been widely utilized by the research community in purview of medicine. Different biological and chemical attributes of thiazines have been studied by researchers in order to synthesize novel molecules that possess interesting biological profiles such as antibacterial, anticancer, antipsychotic, antitubercular, analgesic, antiinflammatory, antifungal, and antiviral activities. This chapter focuses on the chemistry and therapeutic horizon of different thiazines along with their multitargeting potential in multifactorial disease. Although only few scientific reports justify their multitargeting potential, the diverse pharmacological profile of thiazine derivatives provides new aspects for the designing of superior multitargeting medicinally active agents.
