The Physics and Astronomy Classification Scheme (PACS) codes are prepared by the America Institute of Physics, in collaboration with the International Council on Scientific and Technical Information (ICSTI). PACS is a subject classification system created to order and categorize the literature of physics and astronomy (and related research areas) for journal indexes and other databases. This chapter also discusses grammar and notation rules specific to physics.
