Abstract

Translational medicine is a new way of thinking that connects basic medical research with clinical treatment. Translational medicine drives basic research with clinical treatment, promotes clinical treatment with basic research, and promotes mutual transformation. Translational medicine breaks the barrier between basic research and clinical medical problems, and shortens the distance from laboratory to clinical use. It transforms basic research results into new technologies and methods for clinical treatment, and promotes the rapid development of clinical medicine, so that patients can truly benefit from scientific and technological progress. In 1992, Science first proposed that medical research should follow the concept of “from the experimental platform to the hospital bed” model. Subsequently, Lancet first applied the new term “transformation medicine” in 1995. As a branch of medical research, translational medicine has been proposed from the present to the present and after more than 10 years, and its development has aroused widespread concern and attention from scholars all over the world. In the 21st century, translational medicine has become one of the most influential concepts in the medical field.
