Abstract

Natural products from Aspergillus versicolor have continuously aroused considerable attention owing to their structural diversity and significant biological activities. In this review, 330 compounds demonstrated a comprehensive overview of the isolation, characterization, and biological activities related to the source of A. versicolor by citing 117 literatures from 1966 to 2020. Additionally, their chemical structures were classified, including anthraquinones, xanthones, terpenes, peptides and diketopiperazines, alkaloids, and others, most of which displayed antimicrobial, cytotoxic, and antiviral activities, laying the foundation of leading compounds on A. versicolor .
