Abstract

Making a proper decision is one of the most challenging tasks for industrial sector decision-makers, especially to analyze the appropriate site to place the offshore wind turbines. Therefore, academics and industries allocate time and budget to achieve a consistent approach for reliable decision-making over time. Offshore wind turbines are considered as one of the primary vital resources to exploit energy. Currently, there is a lack of appropriate and consistent decision-making techniques applicable for potential site selection. Thus, more attempts are required to propose a new methodology addressing the challenges of a site analysis of offshore wind turbines. In this chapter, we have a comprehensive overview of the existing multicriteria decision-making techniques that are utilized to analyze the sites to place offshore wind turbines.
