Abstract

For exploring a wide range potential of ultrafiltration (UF) membranes and to improve its performance and characteristics, various advancements are made, which have proved to be significant for expanding the application domains of UF membranes. This chapter discusses the recent advances that took place in the development of UF membranes; these advancements were found in different aspects such as new material composition, incorporation of various nanomaterials, and performance evaluation of advanced membranes. This chapter also provides a detailed discussion about the fundamental and analytical study and further selection framework for the development of nanocomposite UF membranes for a broad range of applications.
