Abstract
The dimensions of personality are widely connected to a large number of important psychological variables. Thus, we can expect several substantial correlations between the general factor of personality (GFP) and other domains of psychological variables. The results of many empirical studies confirmed the essential connections of the GFP to affect and emotionality, well-being, mental health, self-esteem, self-concept, coping, social desirability, emotional intelligence, prosocial behavior, altruism, wisdom, and several other psychological domains. Consequently, the GFP has a considerable predictive power in relation to many important psychological and behavioral criteria. Perhaps the GFP is even a representative of a still wider general dimension underlying the noncognitive domain of psychological variables.
