Abstract

This chapter describes the Consolidated Framework for Implementation Research (CFIR) developed by Damschroder et al.4 and its use to understand the implementation of pharmacy and health services. This chapter describes in detail the domains and constructs of the CFIR, guidance on its application in implementation research, and two studies that used CFIR to evaluate pharmacy interventions. The chapter ends with demonstrated applications of CFIR to literature reviews, such as tailoring the CFIR to implementation research on community pharmacy services, and use of CFIR for guiding a systematic review of factors influencing national implementation of health service innovations within community pharmacy.
