Abstract

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death worldwide. Diagnosis of cardiovascular diseases has many tests that are well established. Coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) has emerged as an excellent diagnostic test to assess for coronary artery disease (CAD) and is more favorable over invasive coronary angiography as it is noninvasive. This chapter will discuss the utility of CCTA in CAD diagnosis and prognostication, patient selection, CCTA techniques, specific patient subgroups, and emerging applications such as CT perfusion and CT-derived fractional flow reserve.
