Abstract

Supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) represents an aspiring alternative to the current gold standard reversed phase high-performance liquid chromatography (RPLC) for bioanalytical analysis. Orthogonal selectivity, high separation efficiency, and fast analysis time are valued in different bioanalytical fields such as forensics, doping control, drug development, clinical analysis, metabolomics, and lipidomics. The hyphenation of SFC with common mass spectrometry is relatively straightforward. A growing number of SFC-MS/MS applications for bioanalysis are presented and discussed here.
