The recognition that headaches “run in the family” is an observation that headaches may have an inheritable or genetic patternAlthough several headache types, including the risk of developing a secondary headache, may have a genetic basis, this chapter will focus on migraine and its genetic component. Understanding the genetic basis of migraine can provide clues to getting better.
