Abstract

Usually considering the problems of radiation therapy, the main attention is paid to the peculiarities of the treatment of various organs. This chapter focuses on the features of the use of various types of radiation sources in therapy. The review of the possible types of radiation, which can be used for radiation therapy, is given. The advantages and drawbacks of various types of radiation in medical therapy, such as X-rays and gammas, betas, protons, various ions, pions, neutrons, and even antiprotons, are discussed.
