Abstract

University of Munich (LMU): Studies up to the Doctorate (1953–1960) and two post-doctoral Years (1960–1962). The LMU administration buildings where I had to register for enrollment were located at what was before the war—and is now again—the magnificent Ludwigstrasse. In 1953 this avenue was still lined by ruins or heavily damaged buildings. Immatriculation officers handed us our study book in which we were to insert the courses we wanted to take. After paying our fees we obtained the official stamps for each class. …
